YOINK

Type a phrase, get clips of people saying it from YouTube, and drag them straight into your DAW. Windows and Mac. Free.

It’s a one-click installer. If you already have an older Yoink, running the installer updates it for you.

WINDOWS

⬇ DOWNLOAD YOINK INSTALLER (123 MB)

Heads up: the app is unsigned, so Windows may say “unknown publisher.” Click More info, then Run anyway.

The clips are other people’s content. Clear any samples before you release anything.

MAC

⬇ DOWNLOAD YOINK FOR MAC (253 MB)

Needs macOS 13 (Ventura) or newer. Not tested on a real Mac yet.

SHA256 dce046eccfa508454b4d7b7cc078ae65a0ddaad7e6aca1a21b19309778ea293c

HOW TO OPEN ON MAC

macOS 15 and later says “Apple could not verify Yoink is free of malware.” That is because this Mac download is not signed with an Apple Developer ID yet, not because anything is wrong with it (the SHA256 is on this page if you want to check it). Click Done (not Move to Trash), then use one of these:

Easiest: open Terminal and paste this, then enter your Mac password if asked. It downloads Yoink, checks the SHA-256 and copies it to Applications with no warning:

curl -fsSL https://cmplxty.music/install-mac.sh | bash -s yoink

Option A, Terminal (macOS 13 to 26). If the .dmg itself is blocked, paste this first, then open the .dmg:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/Yoink.dmg

Drag Yoink to Applications, then paste this and open Yoink:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Yoink.app

Option B, Settings: open System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll to Security and click Open Anyway next to “Yoink was blocked”, then enter your Mac password. The button only stays for about an hour after the blocked attempt (and for Yoink it often does not appear at all). If it is not there, use Option A.
